Aran Scarf – Free Crochet Pattern

blue cable scarf

Last Christmas, my younger sister was knitting a sweater for my brother. About that time, I realized that he didn’t have a scarf, and I knew I had to make him one. I thought it would be nice for it to match his new sweater. The sweater featured cables, so of course, the scarf should too. I didn’t know how to make crochet cables, so I had to learn it. Once I got the hang of it, I did some experimenting to figure out the stitch placement and the design. This is what I came up with. After making the scarf, I had to make a hat to go with it. You can find a lovely portable PDF for this scarf pattern here.
