My Sister, Sewing

Pink Nightgown

Now it’s time for what looks like the last project my sister made for herself. This was at a time when we wanted to make everything ourselves. We had made a few nightgowns, which I haven’t ever been able to take pictures of. Some things I probably never will. Anyway, this is the nightgown she made for herself.

This nightgown is made out of polar fleece. Is this also a vintage style? It’s actually quite a simple design. It’s a pretty straight silhouette in front and back with no seams for shaping. This frilly trim is sewn on to outline the yoke in front and back, as well as the neckline and the button placket.

The long sleeves are also finished with the same frilly trim at the cuffs. It’s a very delicate trim, and it has unfortunately torn in a few places with wear.

The buttons of choice are these shiny white flower buttons. They accent the nightgown nicely, matching the white frilly trim, as well as adding a cute, feminine touch.

That’s about it for this simple, but elegant nightgown. I think it turned out really cute.
