Pink Ruffle Layer Skirt

This is a skirt I made for my sister as a birthday present. It’s a very simple design with three ruffled layers. They’re each simple rectangles that are gathered at the top. The topmost layer is attached to the waistband, while the bottom two are sewn to hidden base layers under the ruffles. I made a lot of measurement calculations while I was planning how to sew it. At one time I was thinking about writing up a tutorial with the exact instructions on everything I did, but that was a long time ago. I’ve since lost those calculations and I don’t remember exactly what I did before. Maybe sometime in the future I will make a similar skirt and write it up.

To add a nice extra touch, I decided to use this trim on all the layers.

I don’t have a lot of photos of this skirt, but it paired well with the green wrap blouse. That was another outfit that my sister wore quite a lot. I really like the way it turned out.
