In my last post I talked about the black pleated skirt that my sister made to got with this blouse. Now I’m showing the blouse.
When we were planning to make our first blouses from this vintage pattern, my sister and I went fabric shopping together and found this black crepe with red flowers that we both loved. So we decided to both make our blouses using the same fabric.
Since we used the same fabric and the same pattern, of course, our blouses are pretty similar. The only real difference here is that she made hers with short sleeves while mine had no sleeves. She originally put elastic in the sleeves, but years of wear and washings seem to have stretched it out.
Just like I did with mine, she used a very narrow overlock stitch on the bottom edge of the collar ruffle instead of a hem.
The back is pretty much the same as the front, but here’s a look at it anyway.
Of course, since this was made from an actual pattern, the fit is so much better than the other blouses made thus far.
I think it turned out quite beautifully, and the black skirt compliments it so well. This outfit is also one that she was quite proud of and wore a lot.
