
This is the perfect crochet star. I designed it several years ago when I needed a star applique for a project. I later used it in this coaster pattern, but now I decided to publish it as a standalone pattern.
Perfect Crochet Star Pattern
Materials
- Worsted weight yarn: 8 yds
- Hook G (3.75mm)
- Yarn needle
Gauge
16 sc x 8 rows = 4″ x 4″
Finished measurements
About 2 1/2″ across from point to point
Stitches used
- Ch – chain
- Sc – single crochet
- Hdc – half double crochet
- Dc – double crochet
- Sl st – slip stitch
Instructions
Round 1: Using white, make a magic circle. Ch 2 (counts as hdc), hdc 2 in the circle, ch 1, (hdc 3, ch 1) 4 times, sl st to first hdc. Pull circle tightly closed. (15 hdcs, 5 ch spaces)
Round 2: *Ch 4. Working in top loop of chs, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch. Skip 3 hdcs, sl st in next ch space.* Repeat *-* 4 more times. Fasten off and weave in ends.
